We all like high street fashion for finding nursing clothing but there is a place for that something a bit different, something that bit special. An outfit for a special occasion, or just to feel special in. Tiffany Rose specialises in both maternity and nursing occasion dresses, it is a brand we probably have little experience of so we have tried out one of their occasion dresses to see if it actually is that bit special.
A bit about Tiffany Rose first…..Tiffany Rose was founded in 2003 to provide pregnant and nursing women with high quality, elegant and stylish clothing for those special occasions that we all inevitably get invited too. Their clothing includes silk evening gowns, lace dresses and bridal wear. They are a international company with their outfits being worn across the world, including by members of the Swedish Royal Family for many of their Royal Engagements. They source high quality fabrics from all over the world whilst also developing some in local British Mills, with every garment being designed and Made in Britain.
Their collections contain a large number of maternity dresses but some that are also described as nursing dresses. The Naomi is one such dress, however I would suggest it can also be worn as maternity due to the styling and stretch of the fabric. The dress doesn’t actually have extra material or ruching to allow for a baby bump which is great as that is one of the biggest problems with clothes classed as maternity/nursing.
My first impressions of this dress as I lifted it out of the box was the lovely weight to the material, it immediately felt like a quality fabric.
It is not easy to convey the weight of the fabric, but it ensures the dress hangs really well with a nice slight flared skirt design. The fabric feels warm for Autumn/Winter, especially with the 3/4 sleeves. The dress also has an underskirt in the same colour, another smart touch.
The dress has a feature waist tie that is attached from the sides of the dress to be then tied round at the front. The belt is lovely and wide and can be fastened a number of ways. The belt is clever in that when tied it covers the edge of the front nursing access panel so it isn’t noticed. The belt can be undone for nursing or even easier just pulled down and the panel lifted up. Under the front panel there are then two horizontal slits for breastfeeding, every brand seems to have different access! It may sound complicated to get nursing access but it is actually very simple! Breastfeeding access is also very discrete with the front panel and then slit design.
The scoop neck design is perfect for a statement teething necklace! This Mulberry colour is an Autumn/Winter shade for wearing with boots for lunch dates or with a bit of bling for an occasion.
First impressions of this particular dress were that it seemed a simple design but the neat nursing access, waist tie feature, and lovely, heavy fabric give credence to this being a quality dress. The dress may not be my usual choice but it has really grown on me, dresses can be both subtle and stylish. This dress is also available in black, everyone loves a versatile LBD!
